In south-central Colorado, the Fourteeners Region embodies all that

57 peaks taller than 14,000 feet, 15 of these '14ers' are found
in the Sawatch Range lining the upper Arkansas River valley, the
most Fourteeners of any range in all the Rockies.

heart of the Sawatch Range, in Chalk Creek Canyon, at the base of
the Chalk Cliffs. To the north the sky is filled with Mt. Princeton
and to the west and south the view up the valley and Mt. Antero
is magnificent! The trailhead to Mt. Princeton is 3 miles away and
Mt. Antero is just a short 8-mile trip. Both mountains have 4-wheel
drive roads to take you close to the summits.

of Chalk Creek with a spectacular view of the Cliffs. Due to our
location in the "Banana Belt," we have cool, sunny summer
